Palestine reacts also through the embassy in Serbia after the mutual Kosovo-Israel recognition

Palestine reacted again to Kosovo regarding the formalization of mutual Kosovo-Israel recognition and the decision to open an Embassy in Jerusalem.

A statement issued by the Palestinian embassy in Serbia said that this mutual recognition on 1 February was considered “disappointing”, and that, “Kosovo, which is trying to find a place among independent states, was expected to literally adhere to international legitimacy and international law.” On Wednesday Palestinian Foreign Ministry reacted urging Kosovo to reconsider its plans to open an embassy in Jerusalem.

“With the signed agreement Kosovo showed the Palestinian state, Arab states, Islamic states, non-aligned countries and members of the African Union and other regional groups in the world that it clearly ignores and openly violates the international law and resolutions, which complicates the position of any state to consider the recognition of Kosovo as a state,” the statement said. “The Ministry hopes that the Kosovo decision-making institutions will review that step and cancel that hasty decision and correct that wrong act. Thus, Kosovo can give an example of its commitment to international legitimacy and international law.” /GazetaExpress/
