Mustafa says there is no institutional stability in Kosovo

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) signals extending of ruling coalition.

Leader of this party Isa Mustafa said there is no institutional stability in the country after the Hague based prosecutors announced filing of an indictment against Kosovo president Hashim Thaci and leader of the opposition party of PDK Kadri Veseli.

“We are entering an unknown terrain, which ensures no stability of the Government as well as other country’s institutions,” Mustafa told KOHA.

Mustafa was asked what will happen with the position of the president if Hashim Thaci decides to step down in case the Kosovo Specialist Chambers confirms the war crime charges against him. The LDK leader said that soon they will take steps to improve functioning of the state without elaborating further. He said in current circumstances Kosovo needs to support local and international judicial institutions, as well as those who are facing justice.

The opposition party of the Democratic Party of Kosovo has not commented whether they will join a LDK-led coalition in Government, whereas the other opposition party, Vetevendosje is asking new elections. /GazetaExpress/
