Kosovo’s caretaker prime minister Albin Kurti said the US-brokered agreement signed in Berlin between Kosovo and Serbia on restoring air-link, is just an expression of interest rather than a fully-fledged agreement.
Kurti accompanied by caretaker minister of Environment and Infrastructure, Lumir Abdixhiku, visited Monday the Civil Aviation Authority. Kurti told media that the deal to restore Pristina-Belgrade air-link signed in January 2020 in Berlin, mediated by the US special envoy on dialogue, Richard Grenell, was negotiated and drafted without informing him on the contents.
“We are in favour of regional cooperation, but this regional cooperation should have two components: first; constitutionality and legality, and second; economic rentability. All our cooperation should be sustainable profitable and sustainable. This is not an agreement, but expression of interest, it should pass many steps before becoming fully-fledged agreement, but we are facing COVID-19 pandemic and a wide range of activities and processes have been halted, and it seems that one of these activities is also the air-link agreement,” Kurti said.
Kurti during his visit at the Civil Aviation Authority met members of the Board and acting director, Arianit Islami. /GazetaExpress/
