Kosovo war crime suspect makes Initial Appearance before Hague Court

Today, the Initial Appearance of Salih Mustafa will take place in the courtroom of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) in The Hague. This is the first time a suspect will appear before the Hague-based Court established to try alleged crimes of the KLA.

The indictment against Salih Mustafa was confirmed on 12 June 2020. He was arrested by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) on 24 September and transferred to the Detention Facilities of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague on the same day.

The indictment charges Salih Mustafa of individual criminal responsibility for Arbitrary Detention, Cruel Treatment, Torture and Murder, war crimes under international law. The public redacted indictment can be read here.
