Kosovo citizens are voting today to elect future mayors and municipal councillors. There are 1,885.448 eligible voters, who cast their vote in 883 polling stations.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) on its official website announced that voter turnout until 16:00hrs was 26,89 percent or 506,997 eligible voters. In capital Pristina have voted 28,45 percent or 55,747 voters; Prizren have cast their ballot 20.81 percent or 36.078 eligible voters; Gjilan 26.58 percent or 26,866 voters; Mitrovica South 24.95 percent or 19,601 voters whereas in Peja 23.14 percent or 25,236 eligible voters. Until 16:00hrs according to the CEC Serb-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo have the highest percentage of voters’ turnout Kosovo wide.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) has announced that 89 political entities have been certified, of them: 32 are political parties, one coalition, 33 citizen initiatives and 23 independent candidates. There are 5,364 candidates who are running in elections, of them 166 are candidates for mayors and 5,198 candidates running for a seat in municipal councillors of 38 municipalities. /GazetaExpress/
