Kosovo Votes In Local Elections

Kosovo citizens are voting today to elect future mayors and municipal councilors. There are 1,885.448 eligible voters, who will cast their vote in 883 polling stations.

The Central Elections Commission (CEC) has announced that 89 political entities have been certified, of them: 32 are political parties, one coalition, 33 citizen initiatives and 23 independent candidates. There are 5,364 candidates who are running in elections, of them 166 are candidates for mayors and 5,198 candidates running for a seat in municipal councilors of 38 municipalities.

According to the data published by the Central Elections Commission, CEC, until 11:00the voters turnout was 8.22 percent of all eligible voters.
