Kosovo president Hashim Thaci reiterated on Tuesday that the Vetevendosje leader and caretaker prime minister, Albin Kurti, has usurped the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. He said Kurti during his 45 days of work as head of Government has violated twice the Constitution of Kosovo and ousted by Members of Parliament.

Thaci addressing media on Tuesday accused Kurti of usurping the Prime Minister’s Office after two serious violations of the Constitution, and of acting illegally in Kosovo’s political scene. He made the same statements on Tuesday after a meeting with the Head of Kosovo’s Economic Chamber, Berat Rukiqi.

“People in Kosovo and internationals have witnessed that Mr. Kurti has violated the Constitution until he was dismissed by Members of Parliament. So, a man who violated the Constitution twice and has been dismissed by MPs, cannot be labeled otherwise but as usurper of institutions,” Thaci said. When asked to comment President’s claims, caretaker PM Kurti told media briefly: “Thaci presents his wishes as evidence against Kurti,” and insisted that he is caretaker prime minister and denied of usurping of institutions.

The President said on Tuesday that time has come for Kurti “and his company” face justice for as he said, illegal actions taken while in power. “Before making new moves, time has come for Kurti and his company face the justice. Kurti, acting minister of Interior Xhelal Svecla, and minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, have violated the Constitution and applicable laws after only three months of work,” Thaci said.

Commenting on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Thaci said that its resumption remains unknown adding that US commitment in this process is encouraging. “No one can set the day or week of resumption of dialogue. US commitment to move things forward is encouraging,” Thaci said. /GazetaExpress/
