German Ambassador supports return of displaced persons to Kosovo

German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, in a statement posted on Twitter said the right to return to your home is a basic human right.

“We’ve been supporting the return of displaced persons to Kosovo for many years. The right to return to your home is a basic human right! I feel strongly that these personal decisions need full and unpoliticised support by all branches of government and all communities involved,” Rohde wrote on Twitter.

Although he mentioned any specific case, his post came after protests in Gjakova opposing the return of Serbian woman Dragica Gasic. Her return in Gjakova has prompted reaction of the Albanian family members who lost their loved ones during the war, especially the Gjakova mothers whose children went missing.

The Municipality of Gjakova has announced that on 6 July they filed a lawsuit against Gasic asking cancellation of a contract for renting an apartment used by Gasic. /GazetaExpress/
