Kosovo Dialogue Coordinator announces dialogue resumption

Kosovo state coordinator for the dialogue with Serbia, Skender Hyseni, is convinced that no agreement, which will be discussed in Brussels with the EU mediation, will start to be implemented if there is no mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia.

Hyseni said that elements of the final agreement are being discussed in Brussels, and their implementation will begin only after the recognition. “It is not known what the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement will contain,” he said. “As for the implementation of any element of the agreement, they will start implementing after the mutual recognition agreement is signed.”

Asked if Serbia has conditioned the dialogue resumption with the implementation of the agreement on the Association of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo, Hyseni said that he expects this process to start very soon. “The dialogue is ongoing, and I cannot interpret what Serbia thinks because it is their matter,” he said. “Meanwhile, the dialogue has not been discontinued. You will be notified of the dates when the dialogue will start to address certain elements of the final agreement.”
