Kadri Veseli urges KLA veterans to cancel 9 July protest

Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Kadri Veseli urged the Association of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Veterans to cancel the announced protest for 9 July in Pristina.

Veseli in a video message posted on Saturday asked the cancellation of protest because of COVID-19 pandemic, Gazeta Express reports.

“Thank you from the heart my former fellow fighters and all citizens for the unreserved support. But, at the time of pandemics, our main concern should be the lives of citizens. Therefore, I sincerely ask you to cancel the announced protest for 9 July,” Veseli said.

The Association of KLA Veterans has called a nation-wide protest in Pristina against the Kosovo Specialist Chambers after the Hague prosecutors announced in a statement last week filing of an indictment against Kosovo president Hashim Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli. The indictment is yet to be confirmed by the pre-trial judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers. /GazetaExpress/
