Kosovo Parliament convenes on Wednesday to vote new Government

The Parliament of Kosovo said in a statement that an urgent session on voting new Government of the Republic of Kosovo will be held tomorrow, Wednesday at 11:00.

61 MPs of the coalition LDK-AAK-Nisma and communities asked an urgent session to vote Avdullah Hoti of the LDK as new prime minister. “At the request of 61 MPs, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, will convene tomorrow at 11:00 in an extraordinary session, with the only point of the agenda: Election of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo,” the Parliament said in a statement. The decision was taken after a meeting of the Parliament’s Presidency today.

Chief of LDK caucus, Arben Gashi, submitting the request for an urgent session of Parliament on Monday said the LDK-centered coalition has sufficient votes to form new Government. Gashi handed over the request after the Constitutional Court of Kosovo published on Monday the final decision confirming the President Hashim Thaci’s decree nominating Avdullah Hoti of the LDK as prime minister designate was not in violation with the Constitution. The President’s decree was challenged at the Court by the Vetevendosje who are asking snap election after the Government headed by their leader Albin Kurti was dismissed in a no-confidence vote in Parliament on 25 March. /GazetaExpress/
