The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has on Wednesday reached a coalition agreement with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Srpska List. Avdullah Hoti, nominated by the LDK to form new Government also said the Alliance New Kosova (AKR) will be part of the new coalition and he expects all coalition deals be concluded today, Gazeta Express reports.

Hoti said with today’s agreements parties have set the criteria of co-governance. “I am satisfied with the agreement we have signed with the AAK and other parties. We have set the criteria of co-governance. All those who will become part of the new cabinet have to fit to certain criteria,” Hoti told media.

Hoti has not commented share of ministerial posts or increase of new ministries without signing the agreement with all coalition partners. Hoti promised that he will extend his cooperation with the opposition parties, especially when it comes to the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. “I assure you that there will be a communication as never before between ruling and opposition parties, enabling opposition to play its role in correcting government’s actions. We will ask their support in important topics such as the dialogue,” Hoti stated.

The LDK’s candidate for prime minister said that his party is against early elections amidst COVID-19 pandemic, as requested by the Vetevendosje and the Democratic party of Kosovo (PDK). “As long as we can create a majority in parliament early elections are unnecessary, there is a readiness of political parties in Parliament to create new majority,” Hoti said.

The caretaker prime minister and leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti, is insisting new elections take place as soon as the coronavirus pandemic is over. His Government was overthrown in a no-confidence vote initiated by the LDK a junior coalition partner in his Government due to disagreements on managing the COVID-19 crisis and abolishing of tariffs on Serbian goods. /GazetaExpress/
