Kosovo sees spike in COVID-19 cases, authorities warn of new measures

Kosovo has seen spike in coronavirus cases over the last few days. Only in the last 24 hours 124 cases have been tested positive, the minister of Health Armend Zemaj confirmed.

Zemaj said that health institutions have tested 974 samples and 124 of them have been tested positive with the virus. No new deaths have been recorded over the last 24 hours. The Minister of Health said that increase of COVID-19 cases is concerning adding that the capital Pristina has most of the new cases. He said that the Municipality of Pristina, Kosovo Police, and inspectors will increase measures in order to contain further spread of COVID-19. Zemaj even warned of taking new restrictive measures to be applied in Pristina if the number of new infections continues growing.
