US Special Envoy on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, engaged in a Twitter exchange with the main leader of opposition in Pristina, Kadri Veseli, urging him to support revocation of 100 percent tariffs on all Serbian imports.

US Ambassador to Germany who is also President Donald Trump’s envoy on Dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade addressed Veseli on Friday explaining him why the United States think Kosovo should drop the 100 percent tariffs. “It hurts Kosovo and chases businesses away from creating jobs,” Grenell wrote.

The US Envoy was answering a statement of Kadri Veseli, chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), who accused newly appointed prime minister Albin Kurti of planning to abolish tax. The US Ambassador in his tweet addressing Kosovo politician in their first name defended Prime Minister Kurti tweeting that “Albin is right on this.”

Following Grenell’s Tweet, Veseli has reacted again telling the US Ambassador that Kosovo’s PM Kurti is “a liar”. Grenell engaged in exchange again late on Friday telling Veseli that the US is asking for Kosovo to drop the punitive tariffs introduced in November 2018 by former prime minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, to counter Serbia’s aggressive campaign against Kosovo’s statehood. Grenell in his Tweet expressed his readiness to explain to Veseli why the US thinks the tariffs should be abolished. /GazetaExpress/
