Kosovo media reported on Monday that Spain is expected to open a liaison office in Kosovo. But the Foreign Ministry in Madrid has refuted media reports confirming that Spain is not intending to open any office in Pristina.

The Foreign Ministry of Spain in a statement to Gazeta Metro said that they are not planning to open a liaison office in Pristina. Further, the Foreign Ministry said that Spain’s stance towards Kosovo remains unchanged. “No plans whatsoever to open a liaison office in Pristina,” the Foreign Ministry of Spain said in a statement.

On Monday Kosovo online media Demokracia.com reports that Spain has decided to open a liaison office which would operate under UNMIK but will inform Kosovo institutions on its existence. Spain is one of the five EU member states which have not recognized Kosovo’s Independence declared in 2008. /GazetaExpress/
