US Ambassador says Kosovo, Serbia need new approach in Dialogue

US Ambassador to Pristina Philip Kosnett told Radio Free Europe that Kosovo and Serbia need to take a new approach to issues and take bold steps leading to changes. Kosnett said that a comprehensive agreement cannot be reached without a compromise from both sides. 

He said that Washington is trying to focus on things that can be achieved, not on processes, rules and protocols and added that the goal is to stimulate the process which will culminate in a complete normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. Efforts to resolve political problems went on for years without any great progress which is why the US decided to focus on economic issues. 

The ambassador said that the goal of the US is to encourage the process which will end in full, normal relations and added that President Donald Trump first wants to focus on the economy.
