The abbot of Decan Monastery, Sava Janjic, said that the priest who is seen removed the national flag from Koshare has nothing to do with the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Janjic wrote on Facebook that they distance themselves from these activities that endanger relations between ethnic and religious communities. “We pray regularly at temples for all the victims, especially for the young people who died during the war,” he wrote. He called these behaviors irresponsible.

Lexo Edhe:

“Irresponsible individuals who come to Kosovo only to record videos, sensational videos, cause harm mainly to our people who have remained to live here,” he said.

Belgrade media published a video on Thursday showing what they reported is a Serbian priest removing the Albanian National flag in Koshare. The Kosovo Police (KP) has announced that it will initiate an investigation and lawsuit against the Serbian priest.

Belgrade-based newspaper Novosti reported yesterday that the priest, accompanied by two of his friends, climbed to the ceiling of the watchtower of the abandoned former Serbian Army border barracks and removed the Albanian flag, which had been there since the war. The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) took over the military barracks from Serbian Army during a battle in April 1999. /GazetaExpress/
