Kosovo PM Hoti meets family members of missing persons ahead new round of Dialogue with Serbia

Kosovo prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, two days ahead of scheduled meeting with Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic in Brussels has met family members of the missing persons.

The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that on the eve of the EU-faciltiated dialogue meeting with Serbian representatives on Thursday, PM Hoti hosted representatives of the Associations gathering family members of the missing persons.

“In this meeting were present the head of the Kosovo delegation in the Working Group on the issue of missing persons, Ibrahim Makolli, the head of the Government Commission on Missing Persons, Prenk Gjetaj, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kosovo, Agim Gashi and the representative of the Coordination Council of the Associations of the Families of the Missing, Ahmet Grajqevci,” the Government said in a statement.

The representatives of these institutions informed Prime Minister Hoti on the issue of missing persons, their challenges and asked solving of the fate of those who went missing during Kosovo war in 1998-1999.

1,600 people are still considered as missing in Kosovo since the end of the war in June 1999. The Associations representing family members of missing persons asked this issue to be addressed during Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in Brussels facilitated by the EU. /GazetaExpress/
