LDK to propose London-based architect Perparim Rama to run for mayor of Pristina

Kosovo born award-winning architect based in London, Perparim Rama, is expected to run for mayor of Kosovo’s capital, Pristina. Rama is expected to be proposed by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in opposition, Gazeta Express reports.

Gazeta Express has learned that chairman of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has decided to propose Rama as their candidate for mayoral elections set to be held in October this year. Gazeta Express has tried to contact Rama but he was out of reach.  

Rama, born in Pristina went to the U.K. as an asylum seeker in 1992, becoming one of the respected architects in the world and won prestigious architecture awards for his work.

On Wednesday Rama met with Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
