Hague Prosecutors to question Kosovo President Thaci also today
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci will appear again
today before Hague prosecutors for questioning.
On Monday Thaci was questioned for more
than six hours within the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) premises at the
Hague and while leaving the building he told media that Monday’s session was “about
exchange of technicalities between his lawyer and the Hague prosecutors,” confirming
that the quizzing will continue also on Tuesday.
On Monday Thaci told media that he ready
to face the new challenge and win. “Nobody can rewrite history, this is a price
for freedom,” Thaci stated. “I believe in peace, truth, reconciliation, and
justice. I believe in dialogue and good relations with all neighbours,” Thaci said
while entering the SPO building.
Dozens of Albanians gathered on Monday in
front of SPO to support of Thaci and were seen holding signs “This is racism
and “We have no heroes to sacrifice.”
The Specialist Prosecutor’s Office in a statement published on 24 June announced filing of an indictment with the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, accusing Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli of war crimes. The indictment is yet to be confirmed by a pre-trial judge. /GazetaExpress/
