Football: Kosovo appoints Alain Giresse as new national coach

Former France midfielder Alain Giresse has been appointed Kosovo coach, the Kosovo Football Federation has confirmed on Wednesday, Gazeta Express reports.

The Kosovo National Team were without a coach since dismissal of Bernard Challandes in October 2021. Giresse (69), was a prominent member of their 1984 European championship-winning team alongside Michel Platini. Following the presentation in Pristina Giresse said that Kosovo national team has good technical players which must be of use for him as a coach. “I appreciate a team which plays good in defence, collective and with an infusion of individual skills of players. Kosovo has good technical players, and this is something which bust be of use,” Giresse said. Giresse signed a contract with Kosovo Football Federation until November 2023. Kosovo was accepted by UEFA and FIFA in 2016. /GazetaExpress/
