EU reacts after no-confidence vote in Kosovo Government

Ana Pisonero, spokesperson for Neighbourhood and Enlargement in the European Commission has reacted following Kosovo’s Parliament vote of no-confidence in Albin Kurti’s Government on Wednesday. She said the vote of no-confidence puts Kosovo in a difficult political situation at a time of an unprecedented crisis caused by coronavirus, Gazeta Express reports.
Pisonero said Kosovo needs political
stability to tackle the coronavirus crisis. “What Kosovo needs is stability and
to direct all efforts to tackle the coronavirus crisis and protect the health
of people,” she wrote in Twitter.
Further Pisonero urged all political leaders of Kosovo to act responsibly and in the interest of the people of Kosovo. “All political leaders have now to act responsibly and in the interest of the people of Kosovo. The next steps after yesterday´s vote should be taken in accordance with Kosovo’s Constitution,” Pisnero stated.

The Parliament of Kosovo toppled on
Wednesday Albin Kurti’s Government in a no-confidence motion which was initiated
by junior coalition partner – the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).
