The draw for the team sports participating in the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, which will be held in Taranto, Italy, from August 21 to September 3, was made today.
The Kosovo Mediterranean team will compete in all team sports in both competitions, including football (U21 men, U18 girls), volleyball, handball and 3x3 basketball.
The main focus of the draw falls on the men's 3x3 basketball, where the Kosovo National Team has been drawn in Group C along with Serbia, Turkey and Portugal. This group is expected to be one of the strongest and most noteworthy of the tournament, especially due to the Kosovo-Serbia clash in a multilateral competition like the Mediterranean Games.
The U21 national football team will be in Group B, along with host Italy, Albania and Algeria.
The U18 girls are also in Group B, along with Italy and Slovenia.
Eight national teams participate in the boys' competition, while seven in the girls' competition.
The national handball team in the men's competition is in Group A, which also includes Italy, Egypt and Portugal, while the girls will play with all participating teams such as: Italy, Algeria, Greece, North Macedonia and Tunisia.
The volleyball girls were drawn in Group B, along with Turkey, Greece, Algeria and North Macedonia.
In boys' volleyball, there are four groups with three national teams, while Kosovo is part of Group C, along with Spain and France.
