Eight out of 11 drivers were arrested for driving without a driver's license or a driving permit, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced. Yesterday, police officers arrested 11 drivers across the country: eight of them for driving without a driver's license, two for driving under the influence of alcohol and another also for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The largest number of drivers were arrested in the Ohrid Police Directorate area – five, while two drivers were arrested in the Skopje, Tetovo and Bitola Police Directorate areas. Of those arrested in the Ohrid Police Directorate area, three were arrested in Kicevo without a driving license, and one in Kicevo with an active ban.
The driver arrested in Struga was driving under the influence of alcohol and caused a traffic accident, colliding a Fiat vehicle with his Volkswagen Golf.
The two arrested in Skopje and the two in the Tetovo SPV area were driving vehicles without a driving license, as was one of the drivers arrested in the Bitola SPV area. While the second arrested in this area was driving a vehicle despite having an active ban.
After the cases are fully documented, relevant criminal charges will be filed, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
From there, we call on all traffic participants to respect traffic rules and regulations, not to drive a vehicle without passing the driving test, if they have a driving ban, or if they are under the influence of alcohol, and to contribute together to safer traffic.
