Chief Prosecutor Aleksander Lumezi hosts Head of EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog

Kosovo Chief State Prosecutor, Aleksander Lumezi, hosted Monday Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog.

Chief Prosecutor Lumezi informed the Head of EU Office on the achievements of the State Prosecution Office as well as institutional engagement aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency, and integrity of the prosecutorial council, according to a statement issued by Lumezi’s Office.

The main topic of discussion was strengthening of the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo, namely fighting high level organised crime and corruption, terrorism, war crimes, implementation of the law on extended competencies in confiscation of illicit assets, as well as strengthening of cooperation between the State Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Police in implementation of the legal tasks and competencies.

According to the press release the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, expressed readiness of the Office he heads to offer needed help for the State Prosecution. Lumezi thanked Szunyog for the continuous support and pledged to deepening cooperation in the future. /GazetaExpress/
