Kosovo prime minister Avdullah Hoti said that domestic violence against women should be eradicated.
During a conference marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Hoti said that women should enjoy equal status in Kosovo’s society, Gazeta Express reports.
“Violence against women is a phenomenon which must be eradicated. We know how important is that women to be treated equally in a society,” Hoti stated. The Prime Minister said that in the labor market men are four times more represented than women and pledged that he will take concrete results to narrow this gap.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, emerging data and reports have shown that all types of violence against women, particularly domestic violence, has intensified. /GazetaExpress/
