Former chief of the OSCE verification mission to Kosovo in 1999, William Walker, who was one of the first to visit the scene following the massacre of 45 Albanians by Serbian forces, and who stated that it was a ‘crime against humanity,’ and that the victims were civilians, attended the commemoration ceremony in Recak.
Walker was seen paying homages at the memorial of Recak victims killed 21 years ago, and was seen speaking to survivors and family members who lost their loved ones in this massacre which prompted NATO’s intervention against Serbian police and military targets to prevent ethnic cleansing in Kosovo. Hundreds of people gathered Wednesday in Recak to honour the victims killed in this massacre. /GazetaExpress/
