Member of the European Parliament and Standing
Rapporteur for Kosovo, Viola von Cramon, presenting a report on Kosovo at the
EP Committee on Foreign Affairs, has asked the European Union, namely the EU
Council to give the green light on visa liberalisation for Kosovo.
She said that Kosovo citizens should be treated
equally adding that the EU failed to deliver its promise on providing visa-free
travel to the citizens of Kosovo, even though the European Commission and the
Parliament have reiterated their support a number of times in the past two
years. “People in Kosovo are frustrated justly, therefore I call the EU Council
to give a signal, a clear deadline and give the green light related to this
decision as soon as possible. This has to do with delivering of our promises in
the region,” Von Cramon told MEPs. The EU Presidency which is presided over by Germany
until the end of this year, has not included in its agenda visa liberalisation
for Kosovo that this EU decision making institutions will hold today and
tomorrow. /GazetaExpress/
