US Embassy in Kosovo: Every woman, deserves a life free from violence

The US Embassy in Pristina showing data of Kosovo’s Ministry of Justice said that during COVID-19 pandemic, gender-based violence cases have been increased, Gazeta Express reports.

Today on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the US Embassy called on the Government of Kosovo, the private sector, and civil society to take immediate action to protect the vulnerable and fully investigate and prosecute all incidents of the gender-based violence.

“During the COVID19 pandemic, the Ministry of Justice has seen a 17 percent increase in reported cases of gender-based violence in Kosovo, with even more alarming rises in urban areas. Every woman, every girl, every person, deserves a life free from violence,” the US Embassy said in a statement posted on Twitter. /GazetaExpress/
