US Ambassador Kosnett meets Speaker Konjufca, seeks constructive role for presidential election

According to the President’s Office the Ambassador congratulated Konjufca on the new post as Assembly Speaker and Acting President and confirmed his and the US commitment to cooperate with Kosovo institutions. Konjufca thanked Ambassador Kosnett and the US America for their continued assistance and partnership with Kosovo. He also stressed the importance of cooperation and further deepening of relations between the two countries. Konjufca emphasized the importance of institutional stability and the swift constitution of all institutions, as a precondition for important processes to the country. “Ambassador Konsett stressed the importance of electing the President of the country, thus concluding the constitution of institutions after the 14 February elections. He also stressed the need for a constructive role of all political parties in the country throughout this process, by placing the state interest before the political party one,” a press release issued by the President’s Office says.
The US Ambassador in a Tweet said that in addition to Konjufca he met also Prime Minister Albin Kurti. “Time to get to work on shared priorities: tackling COVID-19, fighting corruption including need for an apolitical civil service, and growing Kosovo’s economy,” Kosnett wrote on Twitter. /GazetaExpress/
