Two new coronavirus cases confirmed in Kosovo

Kosovo’s Institute of Public health confirmed Monday, there were two new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total of confirmed cases in the county to 15, Gazeta Express reports.

Two of those newly confirmed cases are a couple who on Monday arrived from a flight from London. Both are 26-year old. “The two cases are a couple who arrived from London today, 16.03.2020, with a direct flight from London to Pristina. Both stayed in London from 4-16 March 2020, and today they have been detected by health service at the International Airport of Pristina and were escorted at the Infectious Diseases Clinics for further treatment,” it is stated in the press release issued by the Institute of Public Health.

The Government of Kosovo approved Sunday a request of the Ministry of Health to declare the public health emergency all over Kosovo after the number of cases tested positive on coronavirus increased over the weekend. Almost all confirmed cases have a history of traveling to Italy. Today’s confirmed cases are the first detected at the International Airport of Pristina. Kosovo Government has decided to close borders, schools, suspended all public, sport and art activities, aimed at preventing further spread of the COVID-19. /GazetaExpress/
