Thaci and others registered to vote on 14 February election
leaders and fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) currently being held
at the detention facilities in The Hague indicted of committing war crimes, have
submitted their applications to be registered as voters outside Kosovo in upcoming
general election scheduled for 14 February.
Express has learned from its sources within the Central Election Commission (CEC)
that former president of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, former speakers of parliament
Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, former chief of the parliamentary group of
Vetevendosje Rexhep Selimi, former KLA commander Salih Mustafa, and heads of
the Association of the KLA Veterans Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj, have been
already registered as voters outside Kosovo.
Specialist Chambers of Kosovo in an earlier statement to Gazeta Express said
that Thaci’s and others voting will be addressed according to Kosovo laws and
regulations adding that they will offer support enabling them to cast their
vote. According to the Article 96 of the Law on Election voters outside Kosovo
can exercise their right of vote if they have applied for a by-mail vote.
