authorities unveiled a statue of former US Senator Bob Dole to thank him his
role on Kosovo’s liberation and independence.
The statute was unveiled in one of the streets of Kosovo’s capital, Pristina named after Dole who is known for his efforts on solving Kosovo issues since the 1990s when Kosovo was still under Serbia’s rule. Dole through a video-link expressed his gratitude for inauguration of the statue in Pristina. “We have worked for 30 years to create strong state and I hope that you will continue working to grow even stronger,” Dole said in a video message.
Kosovo prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, who attended the ceremony said that Senator Dole was the first to visit Pristina and former Kosovo president Ibrahim Rugova at the most difficult times for Albanians in Kosovo. Also, Kosovo President has welcomed unveiling of Dole’s statue in Pristina, saying that former US Senator is a living hero of people in the US and Kosovo. /GazetaExpress/
