Serbian Orthodox Church Diocese of Raska and Prizren has answered Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, who addressed a letter to Decan Monastery Abbot, Sava Janjic, expressing willingness to visit the medieval monastery.
The Diocese’s reply implies that PM Kurti’s request has been declined, saying that such a request and the letter is meaningless as long as Kosovo authorities refuse to implement the Constitutional Court’s ruling confirming the Decan Monastery’s ownership of several hectares of land, Gazeta Express reports.
“If Kosovo Albanian institutions want to prove minimum willingness to respect the rights of Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo, they are obliged to fully implement the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo from 2016, which recognizes ownership of the Monastery. This decision has been ignored continuously over the last five years, regardless calls for implementation by the Monastery and international representatives,” the Diocese of Raska Prizren said in a statement. /GazetaExpress/
