Rakic keeps hiding Kosovo state symbols, but a detail betrays him

Kosovo deputy prime minister and minister of Local Government Administration, Goran Rakic, hosted on Wednesday British Ambassador to Kosovo, Nicholas Abbott. Official photos distributed to media by his Office do not show the flag of Kosovoas foreseen by the State Protocol, Gazeta Express reports.

A statement issued to media says Rakic and Abbott have discussed coronavirus pandemic situation and importance of dialogue resumption. As in his earlier meetings, Rakic, who is leader of the Sprska List, a party representing Serbs in Kosovo, is trying to avoid showing Kosovo state symbols in the official photos. But a detail from his Office “betrayed” Rakic after in the background is seen the logo of Kosovo and the inscription “The Republic of Kosovo.”

Media in Belgrade reported Tuesday that Rakic has removed all Kosovo symbols from his Office after assuming office as deputy prime minister last week. But the Prime Minister’s Office has denied Serb media reports saying that Kosovo flag has not been removed from Rakic’s Office in Government. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci when asked to comment Rakic’s move said that people who do not respect symbols of Kosovo have no place in institutions. /GazetaExpress/
