Preseva Mayor: We want unification with Kosovo

Preseva mayor, Shqiprim Arifi, said the Albanian-majority municipalities in Serbia want unification with Kosovo, however he mentioned three conditions to make that happen.  

Speaking to the Voice of America, service in Serbian, Arifi said that in case of unification Albanians want all three Albanian-majority municipalities – Preseva, Medvegja and Bujanoc, join Kosovo.

“Our goal is to become part of Kosovo if these three conditions are met: First, we are against dividing Albanian-majority municipalities. The Preseva Valley is consisted of the municipalities of Preseva, Medvegja and Bujanoc. We are against one of these municipalities remain in Serbia whereas the other two unite with Kosovo. If we unite, we unite as a whole, if we remain [under Serbia] we remain as a whole,” Arifi said.

Arifi said the territorial division should not be done near the urban localities. Whereas as the third condition, Shqiprim Arifi mentions coordination of the US and EU. He said that Albanians in Serbia will make no move without support from Brussels and Washington. /GazetaExpress/
