Kosovo daily Koha Ditore published Monday a “non-paper” under the headline “Kosovo and Serbia will recognize each-other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.” However the “non-paper” – refuted officially – says more than that. It mentions creation of an “autonomous district of Northern Kosovo,” which based on the text proposes competencies of a state. Also the document mentions giving “privileged status” for the Serbian Orthodox Church, and proposes that both Kosovo and Serbia make constitutional amendments to enable implementation of this deal.
The letter which reportedly is a German-French initiative, was refuted Tuesday morning by Ambassadors of Germany and France calling it a “fake news.” The letter sent also to Gazeta Express, states among other things that Kosovo and Serbia should agree to establish the so-called “autonomous district of Northern Kosovo” with self-government competencies.
The document reads that Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, would lead the discussions on finalization of the Agreement on Normalization of Relations between the two parties. The Process shall be concluded before the end of February 2022.
