MEPs write to Kosovo President: Ensure a functioning Government in this time of crisis
Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) of the Green Party have sent an open
letter to Kosovo president Hashim Thaci asking him to respect the country’s
Constitution after no-confidence vote in Government.
The four MEPs express concerns of the Green Party with the political situation in Kosovo. “The no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s Government is a seatback for political stability in the Western Balkans at a time when cohesion is urgently needed. Recent claims about possible constitutional changes through 82 Members of Parliament further are a reason for concern for us,” it is written in the letter. MEPs called on president Thaci to ensure a functioning Government in this time of crisis that reflects the results of the last elections.
