Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and standing Rapporteur for Kosovo, Viola von Cramon-Taubadel has criticised the US Embassy in Kosovo for supporting the Parliament’s vote of no confidence in Albin Kurti’s Government scheduled for Wednesday.
MEP Von Cramon-Taubadel reacted in Twitter to US Ambassador to Kosovo, Philip Kosnett, who said that he is pleased with the Parliament’s plan to proceed with the no-confidence vote tomorrow.
An own goal of the US in Kosovo with a historical dimension. How can you an ambassador be pleased to see a functional government tumbling in the Corona Pandemic? Unbelievable. Irresponsible. I feel terribly sorry for the citizens of Kosovo,” she wrote in Twitter.
Earlier on Tuesday US Ambassador Kosnett said that he is pleased to see the Assembly will hold a session on the no-confidence vote tomorrow. “As I told the PM today, it is important for the Assembly and all Kosovo institutions to respect the Constitution,” Kosnet wrote in Twitter.
Kosovo lawmakers will convene on Wednesday to vote a motion of no-confidence in Albin Kurti’s Government who was voted as prime minister of Kosovo on 3 February 2020. The motion was initiated by Kurti’s coalition partner, LDK, after the Prime Minister Kurti dismissed minister of Interior, Agim Veliu, who is member of the LDK. Leader of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, said that Vetevendosje head Kurti dismissed Veliu without consulting him. /GazetaExpress/
