Meeting in Washington about mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia, says Thaci

Kosovo president Hashim Thaci during a press conference on Tuesday welcomed an invitation of the US special envoy on dialogue, Richard Grenell, of Kosovo and Serbia representatives for a meeting in Washington on 27 June.

Thaci said time has come to move forward with concrete steps on restoring peace in the Western Balkans. According to Thaci the meeting in the White House was scheduled thanks to persistence of the US Ambassador Grenell and strong support of US President Donald Trump. Kosovo President Thaci is convinced that this process will succeed.

“The US position and the invitation for a meeting at the White House on 27 June, boosts hope and optimism that this process will succeed because it has the support of the US, and the President Trump himself, as well as persistence of the Ambassador Grenell. Kosovo has always trusted the US and has prevailed,” Thaci said.

According to Kosovo president the negotiations in Washington are about mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia. “This process is about mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia. This process is about Kosovo and its citizens in partnership with the US, I am convinced that we will succeed,” Thaci said. According to Thaci Kosovo has no time to lose or hesitate, adding that the country should move forward and join the United Nations and other international organisations. “This can be achieved only in partnership with the US, and European countries,” he said. /GazetaExpress/
