The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has officially replied the Vetevendosje’s final offer on new government coalition, Gazeta Epress reports.

According to a letter that LDK’s chairman Isa Mustafa sent on Wednesday to Vetevndosje leader Albin Kurti, the LDK wants their party member be elected Speaker of Parliament, although the Vetevendosje has already appointed their deputy head Glauk Konjufca in this position. The LDK proposed that this post might return to the Vetevendosje, only after a LDK proposed candidate is elected as country’s president after mandate of current president expires in 2021. With the new LDK’s offer the two potential coalition partners would have equal share of ministerial posts, namely five ministries each, as earlier agreed during a meeting between Kurti and Mustafa.

This offer was rejected in principle by Kurti who made it clear to the LDK, that the Speaker’s post is already occupied and is done deal and the Vetevendosje will not dismiss Konjufca. But the LDK on Wednesday asked officially the Vetevendosje to make the move and replace Konjufca with a LDK’s proposal.

The LDK confirmed their leader Mustafa has replied Kurti’s request on co-governance without elaborating other details. The Vetevendosje announced that Kurti sent on Monday to the LDK the final offer on co-goverance proposing increase of number of ministries from 12 to 14 with the LDK taking six ministries, Vetevendosje 5 and minorities three. /GazetaExpress/
