Kurti asked to dismiss minister Liburn Aliu accused of misuse of official duty
The Democratic party of Kosovo (PDK) is asking dismissal of the minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Liburn Aliu, a day after he assumed duties in the Albin Kurti’s Government. The PDK’s call came after the news that Aliu has been indicted on misuse of official duty charges at the time he served as municipal director in Pristina.
Aliu claims that he learned from media about the charges, and he was never officially informed about the filed indictment. But the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina said that Aliu’s claims do not stand, and he was aware about the charges.
PDK senior official Betim Gjoshi, in a Facebook post on Wednesday said that
Aliu should resign, or the prime minister Albin Kurti should dismiss him. “Albin
Kurti should lead by example. He should dismiss Mr. Aliu and set the example
that he is not just another demagogue in our city,” Gjoshi wrote on Facebook.
