Kosovo minister of Infrastructure, Arban Abrashi, said he expects the International Airport of Pristina to resume flights within ten days.
Most of commercial flights were interrupted at the beginning of March, because of the coronavirus pandemic. Abrashi told Radio Free Europe that he has consulted all relevant institutions, including Civil Aviation Authority, International Airport of Pristina, travel agencies and the Ministry of Health, to discuss resumption of flights.
“We are making efforts to fully re-establish international flights, by respecting recommendations and preventive measures on COVID-19, issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and other recommendations of the Kosovo Ministry of Health,” Abrashi said.
Kosovo has confirmed first coronavirus cases on 13 March and introduced lockdown by closing borders, airport, schools, and restaurants. Authorities started easing measures on 4 May. Kosovo has registered 1,263 COVID-19 cases, including 31 deaths. /GazetaExpress/
