Voice of America (VoA) has learned that Kosovo president Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic have met in White House on Monday. It remains unknown the format of the meeting, but earlier it was announced that Serbian president Vucic will be hosted by the Natioanl Security Advisor, Robert O’Brien.
Both presidents are in Washington in separate visits, and during the meetings with the US senior officials they were asked to take concrete measures to resume dialogue on normalization of relations.
US officials are asking Kosovo to drop tariffs on Serbian imports introduced in November 2018, whereas Belgrade was asked to end its campaign on withdrawal of recognition of Kosovo’s independence. In less than a month the US brokered two deals on restoring rail and highway links between the two countries. /GazetaExpress/
