Kosovo President starts third day of questioning by Hague prosecutors
Kosovo president Hashim Thaci Wednesday was seen entering for the third consecutive day the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) premises to answer the Hague prosecutors’ questions after his indictment for alleged war crimes.
The SPO on 24 June announced filing of a war crime indictment against Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli which is yet to be confirmed by a pre-trial judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
Thaci was summoned for questioning
by the SPO and he is being quizzed by the prosecutors since Monday. Thaci has
not commented to media while entering the Court’s premises. He was supported by
a group of Albanians who gathered in front of the Court and were heard chanting
Thaci’s name and singing Albanian songs. Thaci is suspected of committing war
crimes during Kosovo war in 1998-1999 when he served as political leader of the
Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) which fought Serbian forces. /GazetaExpress/
