Kosovo president sets 24 December as date for constitutive session of new Parliament

Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci set 24 December as the date for assembling the seventh legislature of the Parliament of Kosovo, following early parliamentary elections held on 6 October.

The President’s Office issued a press release confirming the constitutive session of the new Parliament will be held on 24 December at 09:00hrs.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, pursuant to Article 66 (3) and Article 84 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, Article 6 of the Law No. 03/L-094 on the President of the Republic of Kosovo (OG No. 47, January 25th 2009), and taking into consideration the Announcement dated 27.11.2019 of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC Protocol Number: 1846-2019, 27.11.2019), on the certification of the final results of the early elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, received by the Office of the President on the 29. 11. 2019 (Prot.: No. 1608), today, on December 11, 2019, has issued Decision No. 305/2019 on the convocation of the First Meeting of the Seventh Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, to be held on December 24, 2019, at 9:00 o’clock.

The Speaker and the Presidency of the Sixth Legislature of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, in conformity with the relevant legislation in force, are directed to prepare the proposal for the agenda of the First Meeting of the Seventh Legislature of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.
