Kosovo President ahead of Hague questioning: I am ready to face new challenges, this is a price for freedom

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has arrived at the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) when he will be questioned by the Hague prosecutors.

Thaci in a statement to media gathered in front of the SPO building said he believes in values of liberation war and Kosovo today is what he always dreamt of.

“Today, I am ready to face the new challenge and win for my son, my family, my people and my country,” Thaci said.

“”Nobody can rewrite history, this is a price for freedom,” Thaci stated. “I believe in peace, truth, reconciliation, and justice. I believe in dialogue and good relations with all neighbours,” Thaci stated.

“Kosovo is a success story and I very am proud of this,” the President said who during 1998-1999 war with Serbia was political director of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).

The Specialist Prosecutor’s office in a statement a few weeks ago announced filing of an indictment with the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, accusing Thaci and PDK leader Kadri Veseli on war crimes. The indictment is yet to be confirmed by the pre-trial judge.
