Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) Isa Mustafa, whose party is in coalition with Vetevendosje of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, said dismissal of minister of Internal Affairs Agim Veliu is unacceptable and he was not consulted on the decision. Veliu is senior member of the LDK.

Mustafa speaking to Gazeta Express said that Kurti has not consulted him in taking such a decision and the dismissal goes against the agreement on coalition. “MR. Kurti has not consulted me, therefore I disagree with the dismissal of minister Veliu. This is a unilateral decision, in violation with the coalition agreement, and is unacceptable to LDK,” Mustafa said. PM Kuurti dismissed on Wednesday Veliu after as he said in a statement he was spreading panic to public opinion during a TV appearance late on Tuesday. Kosovo is struggling to contain further spread of coronavirus as number of cases increased to 19 on Tuesday. Kurti said that Veliu challenged his official position that despite coronavirus crisis there is no need to impose state of emergency. President Hashim Thaci called on the Parliament of Kosovo to vote his proposal on imposing state of emergency, but the Government said that such a measure is unnecessary. /GazetaExpress/
