Kosovo prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, confirmed receiving a letter from the EU Special Representative on Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, urging the Government to respect the Agreement on Freedom of Movement. Kosovo media report that Lajcak sent the letter after Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry last week rejected a request of Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic to visit northern Kosovo.

PM Hoti answering media on  Thursday said that Kosovo is committed to implementing the Agreement on Freedom of Movement reached during the EU-facilitated dialogue in Brussels, adding however that each request of Serbian officials to visit Kosovo will be treated individually and will be decided based on the situation on the ground.

Lexo Edhe:

“We respect the agreement, and we are in favour of the freedom of movement, we are working on closing all open issues [with Serbia] through dialogue, but sometimes situation is sensitive. I have received Lajcak’s letter and I will reply that every request for visits will be treated in the context of the sensitivity situation we are facing currently,” PM Hoti said.

Kosovo Foreign Minister, Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla, announced last week that they have rejected a request of Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic to visit Kosovo, prompting Brussels reaction who sent a letter to Kosovo prime minister Hoti urging him to respect the dialogue agreements on freedom of movement and visits of state officials of Serbia. /GazetaExpress/
