Kosovo man who killed wife gets life sentence

A man who killed his wife at their home in Kosovo town of Kamenica has been sentenced to life in prison.

Nuhi Mavrovqani killed his wife in the village Berivojce of Kamenica Municipality on 25 July 2020. The Basic Court in Gjilan found Mavrovqani guilty of killing his wife with a metal bar. He confessed of murdering his wife during previous court hearings. The panel of judges found no circumstances which would suggest avoiding a capital punishment and, in its reasoning, said that the accused committed the crime in the presence of his children. The parties have the right to appeal the ruling at the Court of Appeals. /GazetaExpress/
